The 1st Poland-Tadzhikistan political and economic consultations were the chief aim of the visit by Deputy Minister of Economy Marcin Korolec in Tadzhikistan.The Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Economy travelled to Dushanbe on 3-4 November 2009.
Bilateral talks between Poland and Tadzhikistan concluded with an understanding on Agreement between the Governments of the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Tadzhikistan on economic cooperation.The document was signed by the Polish Deputy Minister of Economy, Marcin Korolec, and the Tadzhikistan Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Hamraliev Farruk Mahmudovic.

Deputy Minister Marcin Korolec also met with the Vice President of the Republic of Tadzhikistan, Murodali Alimardon. He talked with the Minister of Agriculture, K. P. Kosimov, and the Deputy Minister of Finance, Jamoliddin Nuraliev.
During his visit in Tadzhikistan, the Deputy Minister of Economy was accompanied by a group of Polish entrepreneurs who participated, among others, in an economic seminar.

The trade between Poland and Tadzhikistan amounted to USD 26.3 m of total turnover, including Polish export of USD 15.6 m.
Poland sells mainly sugar, textile machinery and vehicles to Tadzhikistan. In exchange Poland imports cotton, aluminium and chemical industry products, to name a few.
