Polish Products of the Future awarded in Geneva

- I would like to thank you all for taking up our common initiative concerning dissemination of the knowledge on innovations in Poland and abroad – said the Deputy Minister of Economy Dariusz Bogdan when awarding prize-winners of the Competition “Polish Product of the Future” on 14 April 2008 in Warsaw.

Polish institutions and enterprises were awarded during 36. International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva on 2–6 April 2008. – Laureates of the Competition organised each year by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, won 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals - stressed Danuta Jabłońska, the President of the PAED, during the meeting with the Laureates.

All six Laureates of the Competition “Polish Product of the Future” were awarded by the International Competition Jury:

Gold medal for:

  • “A complex recycling of sewage sludge and albumen waste contaminated with chromium and other heavy metals” awarded to ChemTech-ProSynTech Inżynieria i Technologia Chemiczna
  • “An integrated system for measuring three-dimensional objects ScanBright” awarded to SMARTTECH Sp. z o.o.

Silver medal for:

  • „PCP – technology for the personalisation of polycarbonate cards” awarded to the Polish Security Printing Works S.A.
  • “Apparatus set for testing properties of liquid metals and alloys in high temperatures” awarded to the Polish Foundry Research Institute

Bronze medal for:

  • “Technology for the purification of the raw nickel sulphate” awarded to the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals
  • “Personal Bullet-proof Set” awarded to the Safety Technology Institute "MORATEX"

700 exhibitors from 45 countries presented over 1000 inventions during the Geneva Exhibition. This year the exhibition was visited by more than 72 thousand persons.

The Polish exhibitors in Geneva included, inter alia: Institute of Natural Fibres, Industrial Chemistry Research Institute, Electrotechnical Institute, Institute of Agricultural and Food Biotechnology, Gdańsk University of Technology, Institute of Hearing Physiology and Pathology, Military University of Technology, Institute for Sustainable Technologies - National Research Institute in Radom, and a solution invented by an individual inventor, Mr Ryszard Nowojewski.

The Competition “Polish Product of the Future” has been organised each year since 1997. It is divided into the following categories: “product of the future” and “technology of the future”. Competition Laureates receive a statuette, a diploma and a possibility to use the logo and motto “Polish Product of the Future”, as well as assistance in the product promotion during domestic and international innovations fairs. Additionally, they participate in the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva. All solutions presented at the Exhibition is evaluated by the International Competition Jury. The best ones receive medals, cups and financial awards.
